Take a tour of our cozy coastal beach house filled with soft neutrals, coastal decor, blue accents, cottage textures, and charming all-American touches that make this home feel warm and welcoming.

One of things that made me most excited about purchasing our new beach house ~ was getting to decorate it. It just feels different then decorating any other home. I wanted our space to feel relaxed, cozy, welcoming, and full of personality — a place where sandy feet, morning coffee, and summer memories all belong together.
When I started styling our new beach house, I knew I didn’t want anything overly themed or too “beachy.” Instead, I focused on soft coastal colors, natural textures, vintage-inspired pieces, and meaningful details that made the home feel collected and lived in.
A Soft & Neutral Coastal Bedroom
I just loved decorating the bedroom. I kept the bedding neutral with soft whites and calming tones to create that peaceful beach cottage feeling. There’s something so relaxing about walking into a room that instantly feels light and airy after a long day in the sun.
To add a little coastal charm, I styled the nightstand with a beautiful lamp featuring a classic patterned blue and white base and crisp white shade. That simple pop of color tied the entire room together while still keeping the space soft and serene.
I also picked up some seashell art that is a fun nod to the ocean. You could even create something similar yourself using seashells you find right outside your door. It’s such a fun little craft that reminds you of beach days and makes the space feel even more personal and coastal.

The Living Room: Cozy Coastal Style
The heart of our home is definitely the living room. I fell in love with our light blue couch because it instantly gave the space that effortless coastal feel I was hoping for. It’s soft, inviting, and perfectly complements all of the natural textures throughout the room.
I layered in striped and floral pillows to make everything feel cozy and collected instead of overly matched. Mixing patterns helped the room feel casual and welcoming — exactly the vibe I wanted for a beach house.
I also found some gorgeous seashell wall art that tied everything together beautifully. It added texture, softness, and another subtle nod to the beach without overwhelming the space.
One of my favorite finds was the natural wood coffee table. The warm wood tones bring balance to all of the blue and white accents while adding that relaxed cottage style I love.

Adding an All-American Coastal Feel
In our dining area, I wanted to bring in a little patriotic coastal charm. The dark blue dining chairs grounded the room beautifully and paired perfectly with the vintage-inspired plates I hung on the wall. They featured red ships that give it that fun Americana feel that reminds me of classic coastal towns and summer vacations by the water.

Cottage Details That Make the Biggest Difference
Sometimes it’s the smallest spaces that end up becoming your favorite design moments.
We had a narrow wall area that needed something and instead of ignoring it, I decided to do something fun and unexpected — I lined up three sun hats vertically on the wall. It added personality, texture, and a playful coastal touch that makes me smile every time I walk by.
Another feature I absolutely love is the rattan roman shades we put in some areas of our home. They bring in so much warmth and texture while giving the rooms that relaxed cottage look that feels perfect for a beach home.

Final Thoughts
Decorating our beach house has been such a fun creative process. By layering soft coastal colors, natural textures, vintage-inspired accents, and personal touches, we created a home that feels cozy, collected, and welcoming.
It’s the perfect mix of coastal cottage charm with a little all-American style woven throughout — and honestly, I already never want to leave.
If you’re decorating your own beach house, my biggest tip is to focus less on perfection and more on creating a space that feels relaxing, meaningful, and uniquely you.
