The sun is starting to stay out longer and their are more nice weather days than bad, so that means spring is on the way! I love Christmas, but honestly I am not a fan of winter. Once the holidays are over I am ready for all things spring! I always start the spring decor early, and I always start with the porch, and the front door. This year I am really loving all things moss, so I decided to make my own moss wreath instead of searching all over for the one I had envisioned. This DIY SPRING MOSS WREATH is super easy and inexpensive to make.
I love the natural elements and texture from the moss, and the butterflies to give it a extra spring touch.
Here is what you will need:
One foam wreath form
Two bags of moss ( I only used half of the 2nd bag)
Hot glue/glue sticks
Butterflies….. I used my cricut to cut mine out, but if you don’t have a cutting machine I found these https://www.hobbylobby.com/search/?q=butterfly%3Arelevance&page=1&quickview=80872752
Note: I used chipboard to cut mine and I painted them white, then added some matte mod podge to seal them because I am using my wreath outdoors. If you purchase the Hobby Lobby butterflies you could paint them if you are wanting them to be white.
Straight pins with pearl tip https://www.google.com/search?q=pins+with+pearl+beads&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS907US907&sxsrf=ALeKk030Hu0u4lfUmiSPXL5QYE5WAxb7Jg:1614621826626&source=lnms&tbm=shop&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjKnrCD14_vAhUFXq0KHSloBQ0Q_AUoAXoECA4QAw&biw=1536&bih=698#spd=5720865666991329641
Make sure you have plenty of glue sticks and start glueing the moss to cover the wreath. Two helpful tips: make sure you lay down some old paper or an old sheet for easier cleanup, and use rubber gloves so that you don’t burn your fingers.
Once the wreath is covered, you will just add your butterflies by pinning them on with the straight pins.
Told you it was super easy! This only took about 30 minutes to do, and it looks so beautiful hanging on the front door with a big satin bow.
Happy Spring, and be sure your following along to see all that I’m up to this spring!
xoxo
